WeighLab is a reader-supported, independent tools desk. When you start with a provider through one of our links, we may earn a commission — at no additional cost to you. That funds the modeling, the ongoing re-verification of provider pricing, and keeping the calculators free to run. Here is exactly how it works, in plain terms.
Partner vs. editorial review
We have affiliate partnerships with some, but not all, of the providers we model. Every provider on the site carries a label:
- Partner — we earn a commission if you sign up through our link, and we may give them promotional emphasis (for example, a highlighted card or a spotlight). These are always labeled.
- Editorial review — we have no commercial relationship with this provider. We model and rank them anyway, because a cost comparison that only covers paying partners isn't worth your trust.
The Index is independent. Emphasis is labeled.
The Cost-Efficiency Index is editorial judgment formed under the same six weighted factors for every provider — see our methodology. A commercial relationship never adds points to the Index, and a provider whose value is poor is ranked accordingly whether they pay us or not. What a partnership can influence is promotional emphasis — spotlights, featured cards, how often we write about a provider — and we label that emphasis wherever it appears. Score is independent; placement emphasis is disclosed.
About the calculator figures
Every number in our calculators is modeled from a provider's published price at last review and is illustrative, not a quote. Brand-name baselines use approximate manufacturer list prices that change over time. Nothing here accounts for your specific insurance, eligibility or clinical situation.
Who we are
WeighLab is operated by an independent publisher. We are not a medical provider, pharmacy, or telehealth company, and we are not affiliated with any provider or drug manufacturer beyond standard affiliate agreements. We do not cover every provider in the market; the ones we model reflect our editorial priorities and reader interest.
